Phoenix and Cycling ’74 announce scholarship for digital artists
Phoenix, in association with Cycling ’74, is delighted to invite applications to our Code Catalyst Award fund. The Catalyst Award represents an excellent opportunity for artists and practitioners to design and create new work for Code, an international digital arts festival held at Phoenix, Leicester. Phoenix is seeking to award commissions to support the development and installation of new work for the festival.
The Catalyst awards are supported by Arts Council England and Cycling ’74.
The Code Catalyst Award is for artists working with Max. We are looking for entirely new work or the development of a work in progress that has not been displayed before. Each commission will be exhibited at Phoenix during Code on the 22-24th March 2013. The Deadline for submissions is Friday 8th February.
The scheme is split into three areas:
- X3 artists works with a challenge to explore Max software in surprising and engaging ways, the winners of the awards will receive £2000 (and package of support) to create new work which will be installed at Phoenix in Leicester in conjunction with the convention.
- X10 spaces to show and talk about work in progress at the Catalyst Science Fair. This will include a free ticket to the whole festival.
- X40 oppertunities for attendees to get a free ticket to the whole event by blogging in the lead up.
